I just read on Competitor.com that Marc Becker has died.
This is a great loss for the Ironman Triathlon community. Marc was an accomplished triathlete in his own right going under 1:50 for Olympic distance (non-drafting) and sub-4 hour for Half Ironman.
He was however more famous in recent times for his unique training programs, especially for Half Ironman and Ironman. Marc combined the secrets he learned from Chrissie Wellington’s triathlon coach Brett Sutton (perhaps the best triathlon coach of all-time), with his understanding of what works for real people who have real jobs. He then turned it into a system he called “The Method” and was training other coaches.
I have great respect for Marc and have personally followed his training programs with great results. I was even considering becoming a certified Ironguides coach. It is a shame he has left us.

Marc Becker will be remembered always. I had the honour of working with him since June this year to a few days before his death. He always cared. His insight, dedication and accomplishments were amazing. I admired and respected him. May your soul rest well my friend. You are missed very much. No words can describe the loss that I feel.
